I had the pleasure to experience cuisine from a number 1 restaurant in Asia - Gaggan - a progressive Indian cuisine restaurant. Luckily I did not have to fly out of the country to get this experience since this place was already located closeby in the heart of Bangkok Thailand.

The restaurant is located in a small street. The restaurant itself was a petite white house tucked away in a small soi in Langsuan street - which was unexpected..in a good way. Since Gaggan was known as the best restaurant in Asia - I expected the restaurant to be super fancy and uptight - packed with people in dresses, shirts and ties. I was definitely feeling more relaxed knowing that the restaurant had a homey and comfortable atmosphere to it. Now I was even more excited to see what other unexpected things I will find here.

I was seated with my husbands family at a round table next to a large window. It definitely felt like I was about to have a very very nice family dinner at someones house. on the table I found the menu, a very cute play with emojis.

It was a 25 course meal and the emoji menu surely made things more mysterious. I will not go through all the details of every single dish... its 25 dishes so I'll just let you have a peek at how the food looks like. Very petite bites with powerful explosive tastes full of Indian & Thai spices in every bite. Surprisingly this progressive Indian cuisine had a bit of influences not only from Thai cuisines but also Japanese cuisines. It is said that the Gaggan Anand (The owner of Gaggan) is fascinated with Japanese food so he tries to incorporate some of the Japanese styles and tastes in his courses.

All in all, I felt like it was an interesting experience at Gaggan. I would say it was fun and innovative however it did not stuff me up. Some of the dishes were a bit strong in taste for me- meaning the spices had a powerful kick. Did I love the food? Well, I would say going there once was enough for me BECAUSE I felt like it was more an experimental place, not a place where you expect to get yourself full. There were 25 dishes but all of them were very petite. Overall I did have fun though just wished I could be more full in my tummy ;)
